The fans of Israeli soccer team Hapoel Kiryat Shmona have been awarded the NIF prize for the fairest fans in the first half of the 2010/2011 season. The award was presented in a televised pre-match ceremony in January.

The prize is based on NIF's Racism and Incitement Index. Since 2003, NIF has been ranking the fans of Israel's teams through a panel of volunteer observers who report on the behavior of fans at soccer matches.

NIF and its partner, the Israel Football Association, also praised the educational initiatives of Kiryat Shmona's management, players and fans in holding a panel discussion on racism and violence at a local high school, appointing stewards to encourage sporting behavior and more. Kiryat Shmona owner Izzy Shartsky said, "In these days, with so much violence in the game, this is one of the most important titles in Israeli football."
