 ly: Georgia\, serif\;'>NIF/Shatil Social Justice Fellowship</a><span style
 ='font-family: Georgia\, serif\;'>.  During her fellowship year in Israel
 \, Avital Aboody worked with Breaking the Silence\, a non-profit that coll
 ects testimonies of former IDF soldiers who have served in the occupied te
 rritories. Maya Paley worked with an organization called ASSAF that specia
 lizes in advocacy and empowerment for the African refugee and asylum-seeki
 ng community in Israel. They’re both dynamic\, articulate activists who
  will speak about the complexity surrounding the different minority commun
 ities that they worked with\, and how these experiences in turn situated <
 /span><i style='font-family: Georgia\, serif\;'>them</i><span style='font-
 family: Georgia\, serif\;'> as minorities within the American Jewish conte
 xt. </span></p>\n<p><span style='font-family: Georgia\, serif\;'> <br />T
 his conversation kicks off a New Generations series of salons that we're c
 alling <em>What We Talk About When We Talk About Israel. </em></span></p>
