This summer, Israel witnessed the largest social protests in its history. Nearly half a million Israelis took to the streets with the rallying cry: “the people demand social justice”. The New Israel Fund — working since 1979 for a better, more just and compassionate Israeli society — has been supporting this grassroots movement while leading the fight against ultranationalist and religious extremist trends in Israel.
